Century-National and most other insurance companies cover these items in the homeowners policy: your home, detached structures such as a garage, fence, and walkways, your home contents and personal effects, loss of use of the home, liability for injury to guests, and medical expenses for injuries to others while on your property. What types of perils are insured? The policy covers many perils including fire, lightening, windstorm, sudden water damage from broken pipe, theft of contents, and other perils. If the loss is from a sudden and accidental event, there is a good chance it will be covered. What types of perils are excluded? Flood and earthquake losses are excluded. However, it is possible to purchase coverage for both of these perils through Century-National. Losses from wear and tear or from settling of foundations are not intended to be covered by the homeowners policy and are excluded. There are other exclusions in the policy. |
With Century-National many homes are eligible for and receive a policy enhancement that extends the amount of Coverage A in the event of a total loss. Instead of limiting payment for a total loss to the amount of insurance stated for Coverage A, CNI will pay additional amounts if that is what is required to replace the home you lost. Very few companies go that far. See the Century National Home Insurance Advantage for more information. Also, Century-National’s performance in some of the worst disasters to strike our region demonstrates that we do not abandon customers when times are tough. We meet the needs of customers. See “A Success Story” under the "Corporate” tab. Does Century-National insure condominium owners as well? The company does not insure condominium unit owners at this time. Does the company insure vacation homes or homes rented out to others? Century-National can insure a vacation home provided we also insure the customer’s primary home. We also have a competitively priced residential dwelling-fire program for rental properties in Arizona, California and Nevada.
